There is an undeniable principle which always rules unless we make every effort to swim against the current of society. This principle is that the urgent things will always take precedence over the important things. Unless we see the important things as being urgent, we will never give them the time they deserve and desperately need. How many times do we look up and a whole day, or a week, or a month, or even a year has flown by and we are not really sure how we spent our time. I have many times had the following conversations with friends…
Hey, how are you?
Great! How have you been doing?
We are all great. Staying so busy, of course.
Oh, really. What have you been doing?
Well, uh, we, uh have been…(at this point I’m thinking to myself, “What have I been doing?”)
Scripture tells us: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” When we diligently seek what God sees as important, all the rest will fall into place, as well.
